FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • We offer a variety of surveys to meet your specific needs, including but not limited to boundary, topographic, ALTA, as-built, and control surveys. We also offer other surveying services including elevation certificates, easement exhibits & descriptions, subdivisions & platting, construction staking, and more.

Descriptions for each of these can be found on the “Our Services” page. For help deciding which services you need, please contact us. We would be happy to get some more information on your project, discuss your options, and help you decide what would be most beneficial.

  • A survey may be required for your project. Even if a survey is not required, it may simply be in your best interest. For most of us, property is our largest investment and our primary source of wealth. It is very important to protect your investment.

A survey is essential to precisely determine your property’s boundaries, locate improvements, and identify potential encroachments, protecting you from legal disputes and costly, uninformed property investments.

  • Once you contact us or request a quote, we will ensure we have all the information needed to provide an accurate quote. After you review the quote and let us know that you would like to proceed, we will send a contract or professional services agreement for your signature. Once that is signed and returned, we will begin working on your project.

The survey process depends on the type of survey but generally includes the following: research, preparation, fieldwork, data analysis, drafting, and preparation of final deliverables (typically includes a plat/map of the survey).

  • Cost can vary greatly depending on the type of survey and other factors including but not limited to location, property size and shape, terrain and vegetation, tree cover, accessibility, records availability and quality, complexity, required or desired accuracy, timeframe or deadline, specific survey requirements, whether the surveyor has completed other surveys in the area, and whether the property is involved in a dispute.

Our costs are based on how long (man-hours/effort) we believe it will take us to complete the survey, our billing rates, and estimated expenses.

We typically complete surveys at a fixed fee, which is a predetermined set price for services, regardless of the time or resources expended. A fixed fee provides you with cost certainty. Cost and contract type (fixed fee or other) are included in the quote, as well as the contract or professional services agreement.

In Arkansas, surveying services are not subject to sales tax.
